Delete your account & data

SugarFree stores your records on your phone. Signing in also keeps a copy on our server (Alibaba Cloud) under that account (Google or Apple). This page explains how to delete them. You do not need to install anything to request deletion by email.

Option 1 — In the app

Open SugarFree → Profile (我的) → DATA & PRIVACY.
Tap Delete account. This removes the account and its records on our server and the records on this phone. Backup stops. This is permanent. The app does not have a separate button that deletes only the cloud copy.

Option 2 — By email (use this if you can no longer open the app)

Send an email to jia_yi_chen@126.com with the subject Delete my SugarFree account and include the email address you signed in with (Google or Apple sign-in). If you used Apple's “Hide My Email”, include the relay address Apple shows for SugarFree.

We delete the account and its records as soon as we process the request (usually within 7 days) and reply to confirm. Photos follow the retention described in the table below.

What is deleted, and what is kept

Data	Delete account
Food/scan records, cravings, body check-ins, symptoms, sleep and weight you typed	Deleted on our server and on this phone. (Even if you do nothing, these are also deleted automatically days after they are saved.)
Photos attached to records	Deleted from this phone. On our server, your account can no longer open them as soon as the account is deleted — but the image files are erased by their normal -day expiry, not instantly. This is deliberate: removing thousands of files instantly would slow the deletion down for everyone.
Account (Google / Apple, device list, daily usage counts)	Deleted. Sign-in restore stops.
Purchases	Kept by Google Play or the App Store under your store account. We cannot delete those. Manage them in the store account.
Subscription status at our payment service (RevenueCat)	Kept by RevenueCat for billing and refunds. It is linked to an account ID derived from a one-way hash of your sign-in email. RevenueCat does not receive your email address or your records.
Purchase notification log on our server (event type and hashed account ID, no email)	Kept. Only the latest 40 notifications are stored; older ones are overwritten automatically.
Crash reports (Sentry)	Kept for up to 90 days, then removed automatically. They are not linked to your account.

Note: Delete account cannot be undone. Uninstalling the app removes only what is on that phone. The account and its cloud copy stay until you delete the account in the app or by email.
